With two outs in the top of the seventh inning, Bulldogs senior second baseman Jeff Sosa singled and eventually scored the winning run after a failed pickoff attempt and wild pitch sequence to give South Broward a 2-1 victory over Flanagan in the District 12-6A semifinals, Thursday afternoon at McArthur High.

Bulldogs senior right-hander Ashley Bulluck went the distance, allowing only an unearned run with five strikeouts for the win to improve to 4-4.

"He was lights out," said South Broward coach Darin Koch. "He really had good control tonight and a good command of the inside part of the plate."

South Broward (15-10) took a 1-0 lead when Sosa scored on junior third baseman Robert Polaske's RBI fielder's choice in the top of the second inning. Flanagan (22-4) quickly tied it when catcher Corey Janson hit a two-out double and scored on an error in the bottom half of the second.

In the bottom of the seventh inning the Falcons Nick Basto hit a shot into the outfield gap, but Robert Pinto made a perfect relay throw to Sosa to tag Daniel Rojo-Campos at the plate for the second out.
