Burkburnett Tournament

D-BAT 16's won the tournament, they were 6-0 defeating the Dallas Yankess 11-2 in the finals.

Looks like D-Bat is taking over premier baseball in the DFW & surrounding area!!

Kinda early to be handing out the World Championship to the DBATS isn't it? I think the Tigers, Marshalls, Mustangs, etc... might have a different opinion.

This was a baiting post...Wheels22 doesn't play for DBAT, but I think he has read the past threads that have addressed this and knew it would be easy to stir things up. He needs to focus on playing SLC instead.

DBAT won the tournament vs. the yankees but the "real" championship game was vs. the 15u Dallas Mustangs Sharp which they won 9-4. They were the only 2 teams coming out of pool play undefeated. Remember that DBAT is a 16u team while they beat two 15u teams to win the tournament.

Marshalls and Tigers were not in this tournament, but 2 of the 3 Mustang 16's were.

Any word on how the Blacksox team did this past weekend?

Folks for the records this was a warmup tournament for all the teams that played. Coaches on all teams worked players at many different positions. No one is declaring anything, it was a warmup tournament and that is what it was; development of the players is the most important as opposed to which organization is the best. This is what sucks about summer baseball things getting stired up for no apparent reason by parents of member organizations. And for the record Bob Saget, Jack Sharp is a good friend on mines and he fields a very good team each summer. Maybe you are the only one suprised that his team made it to the semis. Those that know him well was not suprised at all... Maverick0714 as so well posted by tychco don't be baited. The season really starts in late July during the AABC State and Regional Tournament.

I am new to these boards but I am picking up on some animosity towards DBAT? True or Untrue? If so, why?

A lot of it is tongue-in-cheek ribbing One80 because there are several DBAT parents, coaches, managers, etc. that participate on the message board. And some get sick of hearing about DBAT (you may too!). But I think there's a healthy respect between the DFW rivals.

As with other topics here, many like to stir the pot and in many cases, it's an easy "stir".

I believe you should make the picks since you posed the question. Being a parent in one of the member organizations its probably more important to you. You may be the only board member that really cares since you posted it last night and no one answered.

No big news this weekend at Burk.

Dbat has been champs at that tourny for years.

I guess I took that one hook, line and sinker... lol

I think all the teams mentioned are excellent organizations and like someone mentioned earlier its about which one you feel the most confortable with.

My son plays for Randle on the 17U Mustangs and my family really like the Coach Randle and the whole organization.

I know Change Up but I get tired on people coming unto this board like Bob Saget and want to demish what a player has done from any organization because his son is part of another organization. All the organizations in this area appear to be in baseball for the right reasons and most are supports of each other. Saying it was two 15 year old teams that DBAT beat is like saying a 18 year old team beating two 17 year old teams. As I recall the Mustangs, Tigers, Marshals, DBAT, etc. teams have defeated older teams for years. This is not 14 year old baseball any longer Bob Saget; you are in 16U.

This was not meant to be a baiting post...Tycho is correct my son doesn't play for D-Bat.

I just think some of the moves they are making will and is separating themselves from the rest of the pack! Was not aware that it was 15's Mustangs vs. 16 D-Bat we played with Sharpe last year and he is an excellent coach!

Guess we will have to wait and see how everything plays out

You can't anything here without stirring people up. It gets like this as people get eliminated from HS playoffs and before summer really gets rolling.

SWAC - Was that you behind the plate at Plano HS tonight?

If it was, I thought you did a nice job calling balls and strikes.

Cheapseats that was me. It was a easy game to call as both pitchers did a good job staying around the plate. A 1:30 game I love those.
