Geez what goes through people's minds??? This does remind me of something that happened when I was in elementary school way back when. I don't know if our busdriver was telling the truth or not but as soon as we got on the bus at school to go home she turns around and tell us "You kids need to be quiet today because I've been drinking some beer and my head hurts". I don't think a kid said one word for the entire trip but that was still pretty stupid.

When I graduated college I was a sub teacher and regular route driver. Still drive for football and baseball and let me tell you the amount of responsibility on your shoulders is immense. Why that can't sink into someone's head to make good decision's is beyond me.
...speaking of bus trips, last night our JV and V were headed home on 2 different buses. A tornado passed nearby causing light hail and swirling wind and rain. The coaches had the players all move to the front of the bus and prepare to exit and hit the ditch. But in rural East Texas, these roads have no shoulder. So, they kept moving slowly - everyone praying. Thankfully, it finally passed and they made it home safely! When they arrived at the field house, they were'nt talking about the win they just had, keeping them within reach of the playoffs, they were talking about surviving the trip!

When you think about it, our Coaches have a lot more responsibility than just teaching baseball! They are literally entrusted with the safety of our kiddos!!
