With BYU going independent in football and joining the WCC in other sports, in baseball how will it affect the WCC? Who are the traditionally strong teams in the conference? How strong of a conference is it?
What is interesting is WCC has developed into a small private school league (3-9,000) students where BYU has about 34,000, as well as, has DI football as a source of revenue that the other schools (other than USD-DIAA) don't have.
May put other WCC schools at a disadvantage resouce wise.
Maybe but the talent pool for the California schools is immense. Of course you have the Mormon connection for California kids. I don’t really know but how strong has the BYU baseball program been? Seem like a good fit at first glance.
Glad to see BYU make the move... I think baseball will be a push in the WCC. Not sure what effect 20-21 year old freshman will have on other sports, but in football it's quite an advantage.
