Anyone have information on the quality of play in the CAL RIPKEN Collegiate(wood bat)Summer League?

cadKID#2 has just been told he's getting to play for the Rockville Express, and the little bit we've heard, is quite good.

Is this usually a host family type of deal?

You might PM dbg_fan. His son played there last season. He might not get back to you right away as I believe he's in FL right now.

I am friends with a couple of people invloved in the league. From what I've heard yes, he will be staying with a host family.
In terms of the league, I know a little bit more. While it's not up to the standards of the Cape Cod or Northwoods league, the quality of the league is improving. The number of prospects playing in this league improve each season.
