(1) Take plenty of money; Angelos is cheap but his food isn't.

(2) Boog's Bar-B-Que is a necessity.

(3) Hot dogs are a must, as in any park, but they're huge, so let Boog's handiwork settle a few innings in between the Bar-b-Que and the hot dog.

(4) If poor play upsets your stomach, for goodness sakes eat befor Chen comes in from the bullpen. Once he comes in, you can leave as the game is over and the O's either have lost or will lose.

(5) Inner Harbor is only 2-3 blocks away, sort of, and has a lot of neat shops. The all time greatest, "All American Baseball Classics" unfortuantely closed a few years ago. Great place to just walk around, relax and "people watch". The obnoxious ones will have on the hats with "NY".
Just noticed that TPM asked for my input.

I spent a month one week in Baltimore. (just kidding) Crab Cakes seemed to be the big thing. Inner Harbor was the place to go. For the younger crowd I would recommend the ESPN Zone. The Ball Park is great!

Forgot the name of it but one of those real famous horse racing tracks is there. South (I think) of the horse track is a poor part of town. I’ve always been fascinated by driving through the worst parts of anywhere we’re at. They’re all very similar, garbage everywhere, lots of broken windows and people walking around looking dangerous. My wife hates it, but I think it’s very educational. You can’t help but wonder… How many of these poor little kids have amazing talents that will be wasted. It’s very sad, that people in our country have to live like that. And it’s not just Baltimore, it’s like that in every big city in the country! Millions of young kids who have to find a way to climb out of that mess they were born into. Many of them never do!
Heres my tip. Don't buy any food at the game. Too expensive and not very good. Expect alotta Yankee fans there. Before the game go to a crab house and get some crabs. Steamed old bay and if your over 21 get a Natty Boh a Baltimore beer that's a legend. Steamed crabs with old bay, if you leave Baltimore without trying steamed crabs with old bay shame on you. The best seafood in the world is here!!!

Litle Italy and the Inner Harbor are amazing. Little Italy is my favorite plave, especially if they're playing b**** ball. Have fun!!

The race track is Pimlico - host of the Preakness. The area around it is not very good.

Bal'more (notice the t is silent) has great crab cakes. Crabby Dick's is good but there are also good food right in the Inner Harbor. Phillips is a staple.

At the park, try some of Boog's BBQ.

You can also tour Babe Ruth childhood home

Obrycki's for crabs....agreed
Sabatino's in Little Italy for late night, especially
Amicci's in Little Italy for decent prices
Luigi Petti has an outdoor dining area if that's your thing (also Little Italy)

If you're up for a high ticket dinner, Charleston (call first, it's amazing but very, very high ticket)

Should sees? The Inner Harbor, ESPN Zone if you don't have one in your area (food's not good, though), Babe Ruth Museum and Sports Legends at Camden Yards. For the two museums, check the websites for hours. They are walking distance from the ballpark.

I, too, would eat any of Boog's sandwiches, but not much else at Camden Yards. Waaaay overpriced.

There are some very good chain restaurants downtown as well -- Cheesecake Factory, Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, etc. But I'd bypass Phillips any day for Obrycki's.

Feel free to PM me for any additional info.
Great day at the ballpark. Thanks for all your tips...enjoyed the park, the fans (even the Yankee ones Eek) and very much enjoyed the surrounding area.

Some notes:
* Derek Jeter is an absolute STUD!
* Camden Yards is a very nice park surrounded by plenty to do...reminds me a little of Pac Bell...oops, SBC...YIKES...AT&T.
* Did I say Derek Jeter is a stud?
* Had lunch at "Boog's BBQ" in right field...even got Boog Powell himself to autograph my cap. Very good BBQ.
* I think Derek Jeter is the best player in baseball today.
* Great little museum and gift shop just outside the ballpark in centerfield. Called "Legends of Baseball" featuring Babe Ruth.
* Derek Jeter is SOOOOoooo smooth, geez he makes it look easy in the field and at the plate! Runners on 2nd/3rd, he hits to the right side to drive one in....runner on 3rd, sac fly....runner on 2nd, home run.
* Dinner at OBricky's a short drive from the stadium. Great crab cakes. Gotta go there if you can.
* DEREK JETER is a *******' STUD! WOW what a treat!

Sorry for the trip report if it bored you. Just thought the trip was well worth it.

God Bless America! Have a safe Monday, 9/11.

Which game did you attend? I went on saturday with a friend and sat about 30 rows behind 3rd base. I had alot of fun except for the really obnoxious yankee fans who couldn't talk a little trash without getting their feelings hurt. Not to mention I was the only O's fan around, which is really sad. BTW, did you try the steamed crabs with old bay?

Did you just come back to harrass me?

Big Grin Big Grin Awww, come on JBB, you missed me, I know it. The worth opponent... BTW, we'll be tailgating before the big game in the parking lot right next to the stadium. Expect you and yours to stop by for a beer and some grief....
