i have signed with a 4 year school but i want to go to a pro try out just to get the experience and to see what i have to work for. would i loose my eligibility by attending or is it ok?

Yes you can. I see many college players at Pro tryouts. The problem with Pro tryout is that many are in August when college guys are heading back to school.
A Pro tryout usually requires you to be 15-23 yo but they will not turn older players away. They also require you to sign a waiver indemnfying them from liability if you get hurt. Other than that there is nothing else.
