Our sons are learning what it is like to go to college up north or back east... lots of indoor workouts and no games until March. Next year the NCAA rule change for start date will make that mandatory for all. Now if they would just put the "student part" ahead of the "athlete part" and extend the season into June it would make some (not much, but some) sense. 56 games in 11-12 weeks does not make sense.

Wow, I bet you guys were warm tonight!

We still had to play our game. It must have been 0 degrees and yes I mean ZERO degrees out there. Luckily we played at 5pm and only played 5 innings. Irving played DeSoto at there field. As if the wind was not roaring enought we were up on that giant hill at DeSoto which makes it seem 20 degrees colder. But we survived and won 6-2. On the Friday with a double header at IHS. I believe it is supposed to be a few degrees warmer (I hope). I have been home for 1 1/2 hours and I am still in all my warm clothes trying to thaw out! Burrrrrrrrrr........

Thank goodness the thought of watching a game let alone knowing the boys would be playing in a game in this temp was just toooooo COLD of an idea.......

Yep... some of us did play! And, it was FREEZING. Of course, my other half says I'm cold when it dips into the 80s.

Aren't the cold temperatures bad on the pitchers arms AND on their parent-provided $200+ bats???
