Saw he had a real nice year at the Cubs AA affiliate, and was promoted to Iowa. Now he is playing in the AFL. He has a phenomenal SO/BB ratio. He seems to be being used as a closer. Is he one of the best pitchers in the Cub's minor league system? Who worked with him with his pitching while he was playing HS ball?

Carmen is tough - we used to see him over at CF Swingtown after he was in pro ball. He would generously let Zak stand in to hit when he threw bullpens in the winter - big time curveball, nice change and slider. FB was running at about 85-88 or so, with movement. Broke more than one wood bat in those sessions.... Eek

Didn't he work with Bob Gillund when in HS?
