What do you tell your catcher to do to ask the home plate umpire to ask his fielding umpire for assistance if batter swung?

"Mr. Ump could please ask your partner if he swung?"
^^^^^^^^^^ basically that above. Just yell it out to the ump in a respectful way and they will usually check. I tell my catchers if they feel the guy swung and we don't say anything then respectfully point at the field ump and ask if he could be checked.

Don't teach them this--competent umpires don't answer that unless it comes from their partner. Have your catcher simply ask the plate umpire, "Could you please check with him?"
A few years ago, we had to start an inexperienced backup catcher. After a check swing, he sprang out of his crouch, pointed towards the field umpire, and yelled at the top of his lungs, "Did he go??!!"

My apologies but I didn't word my reply very well. I tell my catchers to respectfully ask the home plate ump verbally and pointing to check with field ump. I see where it looks like I tell them to ask the field ump directly but that's not what we do.
I just told my guys to say "Sir, can you check that?"
If the answer was No, Play ball, etc - The response was always "Ok."
It's not as much what you ask for but how you ask for it.

<<<<Exactly... "Sir, can we check that?" Always respectful because you don't want this question regarding this ONE strike...to cost you strike(s) later.
