I am a catcher and I don't know what kind of cleats I should buy; high, mid, or low, could someone tell me which one would be best? And a recommendation of what kind of brand I should get?

its all personal preference, but for me, I like Mizunos because they have more spikes to disperse your weight better. low cut as well.
I preferred Nike molded cleats myself. For practice and bullpens, I often wore turf shoes instead of cleats though..
So you are saying low cuts are what I should get?
I always wore low cuts myself. High and mid are too restricting.

Bottom line is that this, like many equipment questions, needs to boil down to what works best for the individual. I've known catchers who prefer the high tops for ankle support and comfort.
My "preferance," Is low-cut, cushioned, flexible (for when your in the crouch), and of course you gotta have a LITTLE style! haha
My son just got new cleats and went for the Under Armor. He went to the store thinking he wanted Mizunos but they just didn't fit him right. I think he wears mids but I honestly don't remember. I can tell you they are a snazzy blue to match his HS team colors. Styling.
Most of the catchers I've coached, at least when they get older, prefer to wear molded rubber cleats for practice, and save their spikes for games only. Rubber is more comfortable for them, and over the course of a long season, it helps make a difference in how the catcher's feet hold up.
This is the first year my son has worn turf shoes for practice. He says he notices a big difference in comfort on his feet as they are much more flexible than the soles of his spikes. Slipping doesn't seem to be much of an issue. Picked some up on the web on clearance so I was willing to give it a shot.

Normally not. When I think of turf shoes, I think of more like a tennis shoe that is more water-resistant and has a little bit better grip on the bottom. Rubber cleats have longer cleats than turf shoes. My senior year my cleats were actually interchangeable but I never put the metal ones on.
We saw a lot of rubber cleats when we were shopping for shoes. Sounds like it might be worth a try, especially if we can find some on sale.
