The best catchers clinic around for the winter months is usually during the first week of December when Turtle Thomas ( LSU assistant coach) comes to Dallas for a 4 hour Friday night clinic. He'll spend an hour on blocking, an hour on receiving, and an hour on throwing, while mixing in some mental aspects of being a catcher as well as finishing the night off with conditioning drills that he'll show the catchers so they can use for the season. That same weekend, Stanford pitching coaches ( Kunis and recruiting coach Nakama) come out and run a pitching clinic that is 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. Turtle also runs a hitting clinic 4 hours Saturday and 4 hours Sunday. I've attended both the hitting and the catching, and it is well worth going to. I have heard nothing but positives about the pitching clinic from teammates as well.
Frozen Ropes will be hosting an advanced catching camp in Dec. in McKinney at its Triple Creek Complex location. Visit http://www.frozenropestx.com/FRCamps.html for more information.
The best catching and hitting clinic hands down belongs to Turtle Thomas of LSU. He is one of the better coaches in the country and is passsionate about his clinics. He does not come here to say "hey I am from LSU come to my school," he truly gets after it with the kids. I wouldn't waste your time or money on any other clinics until you go to his. I am certain that anyone who has been to these will agree.
