The baseball is decent. As far as the area, there's nothing out there. You can get to some basic skiing hills within a reasonable drive. There's no 'mount' anywhere nearby. It is a college town (and a party town at that), with not much else around, but they'll draw in some concert action once in awhile. It is a middling academic school. My best friend went there and came out with a degree....and partied a lot. The student body is very supportive of their sports, especially football. That's all I know.

The Chippewas are usually in the mix for the Mid-American (MAC) conference title. However the MAC is a relatively weak conference. The past two years three position players were drafted in the lower rounds which is unusual. Normally the only players that get notice at CMU are pitchers. In my opinion, the biggest drawback to this program is the player turnover. The incoming roster is very large and players seem to leave more frequently than at other comparable programs.
