My son JT, is in 8th grade and has been playing the catcher position for 5 years now. He throws R bats L. His size is average (5'5-110lbs). He has been working really hard at perfecting his mechanics and it has paid off. His pop-time was clocked at tryouts at 2.47 and was named defensive catcher for the season in the fall. He is trying out for the Legion 14-15 yo this spring and REALLY wants to make the team. Our thoughts are that a 2.47 pop-tme is average and want to improve this. He doesnt hit for power but his OBP last year was .647. Any ideas on how he can stand out more and not get over looked for his size...
