The University is one of the top small schools in the country. I guess you can get all of the academic rankings, etc from the usual sources.

As far as the baseball program it is historically one of the top D3 programs in the country. They routinely get to the Regionals and lost to the eventual World Series winner last year, I think they won it in 2003. What is even more impressive considering they were playing as an independent and had to get a Pool C bid every year. They have joined the SCIAC this year and I believe they will be eligible for their league title and the SCIAC AQ next year. They typically play one of the toughest schedules in the nation. This may be the first year that they don’t qualify for a regional in quite a few years. The coach is highly regarded, and I believe he coached one of the USA National teams last year. It does not get much better, as far as a place to get a great education and play for a successful baseball program. Being that it is a top program, even though it is DIII, I suspect playing as a freshmen would be as competitive as many D1 schools.

Late add: Thanks BLD, miss typed correct pool B

OOPs BOF you beat me to it.

As an independent they competed for a pool B bid with conferences that did not meet the minimum of 7 members such as the UAA.

D3 school, they played in the D3 world series last year, but lost to Marietta. Was an independent but joined the sciac this year.

the SCIAC has an automatic bid so starting next year they can compete for a pool A bid by winning there conference. This year they have to compete for a pool C bid which is awarded nationally.

Historically a very good team.

As another resource check out D3baseball.com and the d3boards.com. There is a poster over there known as Crash Davis. He will be most familiar with the program.

I am sure their are quite a few other posters on this site that know more about them than I do. Hopefully they will ring in.
