For anyone who has not heard about Chris Singleton, his journey through being signed by the Cubs has brought more than a few tears to my eyes coupled with a lump in my throat.  Chris lost his mother in 2015 in the Charleston Church shooting.  His actions, following that, were pretty pivotal in preventing a truly violent and virulent community response. Through it all, he put together a nice college career at Charleston Southern before being drafted in the 19th round of the 2017 draft and recentlysigned by the Cubbies.

He seems like a remarkable young man, even more remarkable when put in the context of Sluggerdad's thread which is active on the site:
