The Associated Press has just reported that the owners of the Chicago White Sox have agreed to sell the entire team to the NY Mets - for $743 and 2 large bags of bananas.

When asked about his plans for the White Sox players he is acquiring, Omar Minaya said that 4 White Sox players - all infielders - will be re-employed as hot dog vendors in the left field loge level. The remainder of the team will be working field maintenance through the end of this season.

Additionally - Ozzie Guillen has agreed - as part of the deal - to remain with the Mets as an assistant bathroom attendant in the luxury box section of Shea Stadium.

More details tonight at 10:00 p.m.

TR...You must have called it a night before the 7th inning; and, Iguchi's heroics in the 8th and 9th.

To lose the last game of the series in the 13th, after a great comeback, shows well for the White Sox.

They are capable of winning every game!

Tigers will fold in August and September but will get in as the AL "wild card". Sox will cruise to the Central win.

and.....dealing with visitors from the fair city of St Louis is ALWAY"S preferable to dealing with the great unwashed from NY!...... heh heh!

Keep in mind that Sox/Cardinal fans share a certain camaraderie!

Besides, you would have to drive past my place, should you choose to drive, to get to Busch Stadium from the Windy City.
