I finally had the opportunity to visit Wrigley Field last week. Unfortunately they weren't in town, but my wife and I did take the tour. We also spent time at Murphy's Bleachers, a tavern on the corner of Waverly & Sheffield. My buddy had climbed a pole at the last AllStar game that was played at Wrigley Field in 1990 and stole/borrowed a banner. Here we are returning it to Murphy's 23 years later. The photo with our group was taken on the rooftop a couple buildings over from the tavern...great view of Wrigley. The other photo is me in front of the famous marquee sign. I had a blast, ironically the Dodgers are in town for a Four game series this weekend...I wish I was there!

Nice! Great pictures.
Your friend is lucky he isn't being blamed for the Cubbies not winning the World Series since the flag was stolen. Throwing blame on goats and others is a cottage industry there.
Would the "goats and others" be akin to The Bambino somewhere else? I forget where.
A baseball fan's life isn't quite whole until they've seen Wrigley and Fenway.
Love that place and nearly all around it. Good stuff bsbl247!

What is this "Bambino" thing you speak of? The "Nation" knows nothing of this "Bambino"!
Is this the fabled best pitcher and homerun hitter at the early turn of the 20th century?....Its a myth and fairy tale handed down by inebriated generations of NY Highlanders father's to their sons.

That's funny fenwaysouth. My family did a tour of Fenway Park in 2001. My son, who was eight years old at the time, wore a Yankees hat (his little league team) during the tour and caught some flack, ironically the next year the Sox won the World Series....so who knows what will happen in Chi-Town after the return of the banner?

bsbl247 - We were there also at Fenway in 2001. We may have been there at the same time on the same tour. My kids thought it was hilarious the tour guides kept reminding them to not touch the grass. Here's one of my favorite pictures. We indoctrinate them young in our house. If the Cubbies made it to the World Series, I'd be pulling for them against just about anybody. The "Nation" knows the joy that comes from finally winning a WS.
