Our son said last night in a sad tone.... "did you guys really mean it when you said you didn't need gifts from me this year?" (he's really broke)My husbands response was, of course we meant it, getting the grade in anatomy was your gift to us. He struggled all semester and made it through. The true gifts of Christmas are the intangibles. Merry Christmas to all, and may your best gifts be the ones that are not bought!

I got the best Christmas gift that I could want when my son arrived home safe and sound this past Monday night...I will enjoy every minute of the next 3 weeks that he will be home. After this visit, he will not be able to come home for a visit until the end of the spring semester and then only for a few days and then he will be off to Wisconsin to play summer ball. At least I already know my summer vacation destination...LaCrosse, Wisconsin! Cool

Happy Holidays everyone!!! laola

With high school out for Christmas and mine with the flu...BK decided to make him some eggs yesterday morning.

Well, I was at work and I get a call from him that says, "Mom if I were you, I'd hide my Christmas presents somewhere else besides with the pots and pans."

Seems I forgot and stuck a package under the cabinet one day when he surprised me by coming home early...so I threw the package in forgetting to retrieve if later.

I got home at lunch and BK is smiling ear to ear...and has his gift opened...it's a collection of magic tricks...

A few months back his briefcase with about 50 plus tricks was stolen from his truck. He's always had the knack for tricks and the slight of hand...does his card tricks for coaches and the guys on those bus trips. He's a very good magician.

Well, he was in heaven and I spent my entire lunch hour watching his show...as he performed those magic tricks for me.

His smile was the best gift any mom could hope for...

And I still don't know how he got that little yellow ball into my pocket!

He can makes things disappear. Float in mid air. And do dozens of card tricks.

His best trick of all is just being my son.
Hot Mama- that reminds me of a birthday a long time ago. MINE- my mom was in the hospital having my little sister (back when you got to stay in the hospital for at least 2 nights!) She sent my dad out for my birthday gift and he came home with Brownie Scout camera, handkerchief, socks, gloves, headband... you get the picture! She came home on my birthday- still the best gift!
Ann,

Just think you get to go from 90-100 degree weather to 70-80 for your vacation. You'll need a winter jacket Big Grin

If you come up after June 15th bring plenty of Mosquito repellant.

LaCrosse is a beautiful part of our state, right on the Mississippi River. I went to college there for a year, the stories.... Wink

You are all so right when you say just having the boys home is "gift" enough..

My son arrived Friday after a Dr.'s appointment when he was cleared to start to throw in two weeks. My gift from him came early in the form of an exercise he did for me...Got his arm up over his head...great accomplishment after a very long post surgery re-hab.

My daughter's "gift" came in the form of a new basketball coach...a legend, a teacher and an absolute gem of a man. This is her 3rd coach in 4 years of Varsity hoops...and this year promises to reward her for her commitment to the sport, her work ethic and her resolve...

God is good...I hope all your "gifts" are equally pleasing.
