Christmas Gift-PLEASE HELP LADIES!!

Frank - $5 is going to go very far. One suggestion I might make for you is gourmet coffee or hot chocolate mixes. That's something inexpensive and a treat that many don't buy for themselves from a specialty coffee shop. Also, since the budget is limited, you might want to consider doing some kind of group gift - like having a lunch brought in for them or some special deserts one afternoon which you could do for around $5.00 a person.

I always like a nice ornament for my tree, silver, glass and at this time of the year you can usually find them discounted at the major department stores (Gorham, Mikasa, Towle type).

Or if they are coffee people a $5 gift certificate to Starbucks is nice esp. in Colorado.

OldBatNever - the ornaments are a great idea too! I did that one year for some co-workers and went to a specialty gift shop (although somewhere like a Hallmark would have some) and bought a similar ornament for each person. They were all glass angels, but each one was a little different by holding something that symbolized an event, hobbie, or something special in their lives. Example: I got a girl that traveled all the time one holding an airplane, one that had her first grandchild an angel with a baby, one that had a deep spiritual faith had an angel with a bible. Would take a little bit of time to figure out something special or unique about each person, but then again, that's the whole idea!

I agree, those are all good suggestions. When I was a Sunday School teacher, I would receive several special ornaments from students each year, and they still bring a smile to my face each year. Also, to expand the cocoa/gourmet coffee idea, a packet or two of a beverage tucked into a mug with a pair of holiday-pattern socks will bring a smile to women and girls of most ages - a toe-to-tummy warmer!

MNMom, great idea esp. with the addition of the socks (heck in MN I would use those and toewarmers yearround.....)


Speaking of cups, there is a collection of cups out there that are kinda cute that have things like "Cybergirl", TravelerGirl and those would be fun as they personalize it and can be used yearround.

Even with a small budget if you take something like an ornament, cup, socks and if you make the selection personal (by way of hobby, personality, sport)it then becomes a BIG hit.
