There's an easy explanation. If you look close at the crowd to the mayor's left you can see David Pepper, the mayor's opponent in their last election. He was aiming at Pepper, but hit the umpire in the belly instead.

The best part is when the umpire gives him the heave ho!

What is it with Cincy mayors...
...first Jerry Springer, now this.

It's the ghost of Marge Schott, causing mayhem.......

wait....is she still alive? If she is, maybe it's the ghost of Schotzy the Schnauzer........

Could even have something to do with Pete Rose....throwing the mayor's pitch-out for a few $.

The only thing funnier than that pitch was the look on Eric Davis' face (he was the catcher for that first "pitch")
