Wondering about Cisco JC. All the information is fairly old. We have a visit coming up and wanted to know about the coaches and if they still have a tendency to over recruit?
Yes they do! I have a nephew that just left the program. They had something like 40 kids on campus this past fall. Several were told not to come back this spring and several others were "red shirted" and encouraged to find other options if they wanted to play this spring. My nephew was given the "red shirt" option. Among other things that his father and I didn't agree with were their fund raising tactics. Obviously there are both pros and cons. If you spoke to the parents of kids that are still there, I'm sure you would hear nothing but good things. They are successful, but at the expense of lots of good kids. Be careful!
My son went there and it was a great experience for him. They developed his physical build, got to pitch (LHP) regularly. And after two years at CJC, he pitched two years for DBU. Cisco was that springboard to DBU for my son. Good coaches, good facilities. It worked for us!
Both of my son's play for a baseball organization here in Houston and one of our pro coaches played at Cisco before he transferred to University of Houston. He has nothing but good things to say about his experience there.
