We are about halfway through the season....just wondering if there were any changes or thoughts to the pre-season favorites for Class L baseball this season?

I still think that Londonderry and Trinity are the favorites due to their solid and deep pitching. Not having seen Keene play enough I cannot comment on them but the other two are extremely fundamentally sound in all aspects of the game. While Goffstown just beat Trinity (which was an incredible game by the way) I don't think they have the pitching once they get away from their home field. Any thoughts?.....

Coach Weaver, Alvirne has a very good record at this point in the season at 10 - 3 however against the current top 4 teams they post a 1-2 record and against teams with above .500 records they are 2-2. From this information I think more is needed before they can be considered a definate for the final four. I am interested to see how they do against Trinity. An interesting fact bottom 11 teams as of today have 42 collective wins in comparison to the top four teams who collectively have 48. Bottom 11 are averaging about 4 wins a piece while the top 4 are averaging 12 wins a piece. Of Alvirnes 10 victories 7 came from today's bottom 11 teams.
I just saw Keene play and Keene is definitely in the top 4 teams offensively...that team stacks up with the Lancers(who i think is the best) lineup from top to bottom. One thing that Keene knows how to do is hit the ball and hit it hard. They also have a very good pitching staff and solid Defense. While they do play some lower level teams due to their location they are more than capable of making a deep run in the Class L playoffs.

I still think that Londonderry is the favorite with 3 solid starting pitchers and plenty of offense that goes well into their bench players who can step up into the starting lineup when needed. Trinity is a good team but I dont think they are as offensively talented as Londonderry, Keene, or Goffstown, but make up for it with their solid pitching staff.
I think it still comes down to pitching. No one in the state compares to Londonderry and Trinity. Those two power houses are going to ride their solid pitching all the way. Goffstown is dangerous, and with their coaching they are always a contender. I have not had the pleasure yet of watching Keene play, but I am sure they are top caliber.
No one compares both offensively and defensively to Londonderry though, and their coach has the experience of going through the state tournament already. From top to bottom they are the most complete team in the state.
I personally don't think there is a better 1 - 2 in the State than Clark and Cole, these two pitchers are dominating. I have not seen Clark pitch this year but have seen him pitch mulitple times in the past he is a fantastic pitcher. Cole I just saw pitch a week ago, he was tough through out the game but what really impressed me is that he was still hitting 86 mph on the gun in the 7th inning as he struck out the side. These guys are both solid and should both receive consideration for pitcher of the year discussions. Any other considerations?
Albaseball, I don't think anyone here was not giving the Broncos credit their record is very good and winning 8 in a row is impressive. My point was that while the Broncos have a great record vs. the current top four teams they are 1-2 being out scored by these team 20-7 collectively (according to www.nhiaa.org). The only way I believe they join consideration for semifinals is to beat Trinity in their final game of the season. Trinity did lose yesterday to Keene. Either way Alvirne is hosting first round. I think that Alvirne can make a real run in the post season, and am looking forward to that Trinity vs. Alivrne match up.
I give Alvirne all of the credit in the world. They are a solid ball club in Class L. They have great discipline and coaching, but after watching them play Londonderry at Fishercat Stadium I can not count them as a top 4 team yet. The top four teams in the state have clearly defined themselves as Londonderry, Goffstown, Trinity and Keene. If we were talking top five I would agree, but I believe the discussion is top 4.
well we both know who are the math people on this site lol my apologizes as well. But did anyone see the keene trinity game alst night from what i heard keene rocked around cole which is there 2nd starter then the brought in the little left lyons and they hit him around too. Also heard fosher i believe?? spelling probably wrong went down with a elbow injury does this have an effect on trinity or is it just a minor blow?
Just watched Londonderry vs Goffstown this afternoon in a very competitive game which Londonderry ended up winning. First off, Londonderry Pitcher Casey Karolla, a sophmore I believe, pitched very good today going 6 1/3 I believe giving up 3ER? while pounding the strike zone and keeping the Goffstown hitters off balance the entire time. Also I believe that Kyle Neverman is the Class L player of the Year.....going 2-3 today with a 1b, HR, and an intentional walk, only added to what has already been an outstanding senior season for Neverman.

I personally do not think there is a better all around player in Class L than Neverman. He can play any number of defensive positions as well as pitch effectively. He also can bat in any spot in the order and produce from that spot.

The way things are going we could be heading for the 1-4 seeds in the tournament meeting in the semifinals for the first time in a long time. There could be a team like Alvirne or Nashua South in the mix too.
