Our AD just email me on the proposal for the 06-07 school year. 4-Classes for baseball. (As well as other sports.) Currently we have a two class system but it is broken down at the 700 student mark. This makes approximately 67% of the school Class AA while the other schools are Class A. What do you have in your state?

We have a 6-Class system in Florida for the major sports, while other sports can be organized into either 2, 3, or 4 class systems.

From there, teams are broken into 4 or 5 team districts based on geography. Our program was in the toughest district in the state 2 years ago, with 3 teams being ranked in the stae, and 1 other receiving votes.
I posted in the Illinois Form about the posibility of changes. I've heard that if we go to 4 Classess, then we will have District play but this hasn't been confirmed. Currently, we have "Regional", "Sectional", and "Super-Sectional" play to get to the State Tournament. Only 8 teams make it beyond "Super-Sectionals." District play would be real interesting as would the class breakdown. Our AD, in his email said that we would be 3A since our school has 1,300 students.
in tennessee we have 5 classifications in football and 3 in everything else. i wish theyd got to 4 in everything so each sport would have the same district games but football is totally different.
in baseball our conferences and districts are the same teams. we play our regular season conference schedule to determine seeds for district tournament.
2 teams advance out of the district to the region tournament. 2 teams advance out of the region to a sectional game. the winner of the sectionals advance to the state. 8 teams.
as far as regular season we can play 32 games. you can play in 4 tournaments. a tournament counts as 3 games toward the 32. preseason scrimmages are unlimited.
In Maryland, we have a 4 class system for most of the major sports. All teams (except in Football), make the state tournament regardless of record. Each class is broken down into 4 regions. The top 4 teams in each region are seeded, the rest are seeded by a blind draw. Single elimination. The 4 regional winners for each class move on to the state semi-finals, then finals. We end up having 4 state champions at the end of the season (1 for each class).

In football, only the top 4 teams from each region and each class, qualify for the post-season tournament.
Texas about 1,300 schools in 5 classes. Football has two state champs per class. Everything else has one state champ per class. We play a district schedule to determine who makes the play-offs. The top three teams from each district make the post season. Six rounds later you are playing for the state championship.
