This is also a good time to print out the course list from the clearinghouse website and take it to your son's high school counselor. You want to be sure that the classes offered at your son's highschool match up with the curriculum mandated by NCAA. There was a post recently about a college freshman who became ineligible during one of his workouts with the college because one high school course didn't pass muster with the clearinghouse. And I don't think this was an urban myth situation.
Great point, newcomer. I met with the school counselor just last week to talk about both the approved and denied courses and plan son's courses for the next 3 semesters. I came in with my list and her jaw dropped. She said, "You're good," explaining that I was the only parent she had ever met who was even aware that there were denied courses. I told her HSBBW gets the credit for that!
