i was wondering if anyone can offer some advice on this. My son had TJ surgery in July. He is a senior this year and on track to graduate in May. He Will do a grad year next year in order to play his last season of eligibility. There are all new coaches at his school this year. He already talked to the new coach about next year and said he’d love to have him back but no money. That’s fine because if he hadn’t gotten hurt he’d be paying for grad school anyway if he decided to go. He’s just unsure of whether to stay or try to find somewhere else. I keep telling him it would have to be next to impossible to find somewhere else to go when he is still in the middle of rehabbing, and won’t be able to throw until at least June. Am I right on this. He was a starter and after the surgery and the rehab I would just like to see him be able to pitch again. I think he just got a feeling with the new coaches they were bringing in their own guys and he’d never get a chance again here, but I see the same problem even attempting to go somewhere else.

Thanks

Thank you both. That was my feeling as well, but mom knows nothing. I was just looking for confirmation. Since I’ve posted I think he feels a little better about the new coaches. They seem to like him, they made him a captain. He was supposed to be with the old coach , but with the injury I didn’t think they would.  They said they could see he was the leader on the team, and at least this keeps him very involved. I know not playing is torture.  Hopefully all works out, and hey I’m getting him to go to Grad school! Lol

Great news!!

Thanks for the update.  Sounds like the new regime is making some level headed first moves.

Best of luck to your son with his recovery.
