Not trying to start a football conversation but It seems that what is happening at Clemson in football is very relative to what we have talked about lately. Dabo sees the freshman, Lawrence, as his best chance to win in the long run and so in time for Bryant to redshirt this year and transfer he named Lawrence the starting QB. He is catching all kinds of heck for removing Bryant as the starting QB at this point. But in my opinion, he did what is best for the player. yes, the player will have to redshirt and transfer but it will give him a chance to play next year at another program. I don't think as a coach you can win in making tough decisions even if you do what is best for the player and your program.

WRT the QB transferring, I think you correctly stated that the coach did what he felt was best for the team, program and lastly players involved. It would be a travesty to sit the freshman, he is gifted. The upper classman is incredibly inconvenienced, but will live to play at the D1 level another day in another program if he chooses and finds a roster spot.
I was telling my son the other day that his future college coach is already recruiting his replacement so he needs to push that accelerator a little more. I can't imagine being a college quarterback in this age, where you see so many graduate transfers, and now this new RS rule will probably add to that number. It has to be a daily stressor, unless you are that special player who is so talented that you are virtually guaranteed your spot.
My son played baseball at Clemson and needless to say we have lots of friends up there. We'll be up there this weekend. IMHO, KB made the decision to move on because he thinks he is better and should start...time in, waited behind DW and followed the program. He is already graduated and wants to play another year. Good luck to him. He wont play QB at the next level, maybe no other position either. His fate is that he got sandwiched in between two NFL QBs that are playing and will play at the next level. The parting shots about "fairness or lack of it" and "slap in the face" were uncalled for, he is obviously hurt. Best of luck to him, he needs to learn how to throw guys open if he wants to be a better QB.
