So - I see Coach May again at Wake Forest this weekend.

His son has a game after my youngest son's game just finished.

I introduce my son to Coach May - and - Coach May takes the time to talk to him and spend his time giving him some real life - great advice - about the college process.

My son knew right away how much this man cares about the game and the kids. As we were walking back to the car - my son said - "Dad - that guy is awesome."

Just very appreciative that I have been able to get to know Coach May - and even more appreciative of how he is willing to talk to these kids with such honesty - passion and knowledge.

Thanks for taking the time to talk to him Coach.

I remember a few years ago chatting to CM one night in chat and he had just seen DK play (either on TV or at a game) and he was pretty accurate in his assesment of what he felt that DK would achieve as time went on. I thought that was pretty perceptive.

Funny thing, if I remember correctly, he didn't even know, when he was watching him, that he was my pitcher! Wink

I know that he has sent some of his players to Clemson.

First of all it was all my pleasure to get the chance to talk to Gamers son. I had just finished watching Kyle play again. Hits a ground ball in the infield and busts his butt through the bag. He plays the game with passion. I love to watch him play. I first saw him play about three years ago. He was a little small and not very physical but he played so hard and seemed to have a feel for the game. Now Im standing there looking at this young man and he has grown up into a heck of a ball player. Strong lean and a fine young man. What a pleasure to talk to him. Gamer the pleasure was all mine.

And Midlodad my big regret is I never had the chance to recruit your son to UNC!!!
We liked UNC a lot, and it was probably our second choice to tell the truth. Especially liked Coach Fox -- what a great guy to entrust your son to for 3-4 years. Wake just felt a bit more comfortable to Midlo Son.

His mom, a diehard Wahoo, would've had a fit if he'd've become a Tar Heel, though. As for me, I'm just glad he doesn't have to wear powder blue all the time!
Coach May is the epitome of what baseball and kids is all about. This man loves the game pure and simple and loves to watch kids do it the right way. When my son was deciding about schools, I made one phone call about our situation and my mind was eased with the choice my son had made, my one call was to Coach May. If a kid plays the game hard, intense, and with passion, coach may will always be his biggest fan, he is a great judge of talent, but a better judge of ballplayers. If you have never met Coach May, you should make it a point to look him up. Great Man and will talk to a wall about baseball.
