So I was just in the process of breading up some chicken and putting it in the oven and decided to check HSBBWeb. I stumbled upon this thread and realized that we really haven't seen Coach May post here in a while. I put the chicken in the oven and decided to give him a call on his cell phone to check in and see how things were. He picked up, we shot the breeze for a few minutes about life and whatnot, and then of course we got into a conversation about baseball...

45 minutes later, we were still talking. Being that he's so knowledgable and so passionate about the game, I was listening so intently that I forgot all about the chicken! I quickly wished him and his family a happy Easter and scrambled to the kitchen to save whatever was left of my dinner.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to toss the chicken, as it's pretty much burnt to a crisp. I just put a pot of water on to boil up some pasta as a substitute. But of course, it was well worth it...getting to chat about the game for 45 minutes with Coach May was a willing trade-off I was making for some oven-baked chicken breasts!

As for his whereabouts, he's very much doing well. He's quite busy with scouting and traveling around the Carolinas a lot, and says that he hasn't forgotten about the boards here. He'll come back soon as everything calms down a bit and he can "sit and relax for a minute."

Until then, we'll all have to try to survive without Coach May's brilliance and experience.

And for me, without chicken as well...
