In the movie Glory Road, the coach told a player if his grades did not improve, he was gonna provide motivation for him.

The player is now attended college classes with the player's mother sitting right next to him in ever class until his grades improved.

My son is pretty highly recruited 2007 kid. In California you can get driver license when you are sixteen. My son just turned seventeen and will be applying for permit. Why so late ...... I told him he had to get over 3.6 GPA or no driving. He was always close to 3.6 but I would not budge, this grading period he recieved a 3.6 and will be apply for permit and taking taking drivers Ed class.

Some would say this is too severe however I would argue. All you have to do is look at average grades of incoming freshman {non-athletes} where we live, UCLA 4.02 with 1405 old SAT and USC is even a bit higher.

Things are different these days and grades are so important, remember coaches are just looking for a reason to take your son off the list. The competition for scholarships is fierce and having good grades can mean the difference in that it is one less thing for coach to have to worry about.
