Plano Sr. High is open?
Prosper is open.
The Plano position opened up last Friday.
Frisco Centenial is looking for a Head Baseball Coach I heard that he resigned last week.
Look for a school in SW Dallas County to open up today or tomorrow.
Wow -- it IS a coaching carousel!
FD, I know who that is.
Does anybody know who got the following head baseball jobs.....
Plano?
Duncanville?
Waxahachie?
Creekview?
Plano?
Duncanville?
Waxahachie?
Creekview?
Duncanville.....don't know if it is confirmed, yet, but Assistant Varsity Coach, Chris Anderson will step into the head coach position and the JV coach, Scott Fahey, will move up to Assistant Varsity Coach.
Is the Cedar Hill job open as well? Rumors, ya know?
Plano English
WHAT??????????????????????
I thought English was at Coppell.
He lives in Plano. 1/2 mile from East. His youngest son just graduated from Coppell. There is far less pressure in Plano. But....I'm speechless! <-- I had to type that....speechless....get it? Good night.
OMG PD, You're at a loss for words.
I can't imagine driving from Plano East HS area to Coppell (or even Arlington) on a daily basis. I would switch schools too.

I vote for Jeff Harp
w/OP on this one.
We only had him 1 year and wished it had been longer.

You must be kidding!!! If Harp was still at Marcus you would have missed the playoff for six + years. Go ask the 2004-2005 players about his coaching abilities.
Nope, not kidding.
Your stepson only had a year with Coach C. we had 3 years and I could write a book (my son already has on this topic) on why I would go for Harp but I won't even go there.

I agree with you obn.......Jeff assisted on a summer team a couple of years ago ML played on and I thought JH did a great job. Very good man as well in my book.
Sorry EP.....just telling it like I see it!

Well Oldbat you have now struck a nerve with your whining comments. Let me tell you and all the other Marcus whiners about playing the great game of baseball. It requires developing work ethic and playing to your strengths which was so missing during the Harp Years. I watched two years of Harp ball where players whose dads were booster club VIPs received playing time over kids who had better talent. I watched a team that could not field a bunt, didn't know what base to throw the ball to, and lost over 20 games in one season. Don't tell me about how great a coach he was, go ask the core players before your son every showed up on Campus. Our Sophmore year (20 losses) we had a stud that could pitch, but unless he pitched a shutout he had little or no chance winning a game.
All I hear from the Chumbly bashers on this website is how hard Coach Chumbley on them. How he intimidates the players at practice and during games. It gets no easier in college, matter of fact it gets harder. HS Baseball is not LL, not everyone gets treated the same. It is no different than a football coach chewing their asses out during a practice or game.
You sit through two season of **** baseball and then you come tell me about how great a coach he is.
You and all the other Marcus whiners will eventaully get your wish and force Coach Chumbley out of his current head coach position. But he been there for three years and has two coach of the years and two playoff appearances. When he does leave he will have built the program back up to where it should be. Go take a hard look at the 2005 baseball behind 3rd base, cause if Harp was there you would have not seen it.

ESP:
I posted a comment in support of Coach Harp for Argyle's vacancy. You came back with the negative comment on Coach Harp. I have gone back are reread my post and I don't see whining in my post I see a statement of support for Coach Harp.
To be honest I have been on this site for years and I have listened to the bashing about Coach C for the past 3 years and if you do your homework you can see that in all those years I have never publically bashed him on this board.
Yes, I have been prompted to, I have had PM's sent to me on this subject and I have kept my views off the board and will continue to do so........I stand by my comment on Jeff Harp for the Argyle position, I admire who is as a person and I would love for him to get that job.
If you would like to continue this conversation I would be happy to do so via a PM.

Ok -- thanks for agreeing to disagree. We're not here to bash coaches as tempting as that can be at times.
I call that stating a fact or opinion.
If I was whining I would have added:

English to Plano would be great for the Wildcat program. Are you guys sure about that one?

I didn't mean to start something with my original post about Jeff. I was only doing the same as OBN, hoping they choose him to be the head guy!

-- as always, stated with class!

Now, THAT'S what I call a successful season...
What momandcpa said.
momandcpa your son is one very talented player and it is great seeing him receiving some accolades and they are all well deserved, it will be fun to watch him playing the next level!!!! Heck I might just get the chance to see him Wednesday night when you guys are down in our neck of the woods.......
Collikar: how is the summer going? Someone needs to get a summerball thread going with updates and results......
On English at P. Senior is that rumor or a possibility or did it happen, I am confused (what else is new).

the English thing is a maybe.
Plano Senior High -- not East. The East job is unavailable last time I checked.
Ummm, does anyone know if Harp applied at Argyle?

PD, maybe you better quit Harping on that topic before folks get too high strung. Need to try & keep things harp monius and end on a good note.
I will make that change so not to get anyone confused.
Senior moment on schools. And don't know on Harp I know he is loving it at Argyle and his son is one heck of a QB over there and is on the D. Mustangs for summerball. I will have to ask him.
and Texan that is "music" to my ears.

After following Marcus HS baseball for Harp's last 4 years at Marcus, I could not possibly second this endorsement as a choice for head coach at Argyle.
Any word on who's in the running for the Plano job?
They don't usually announce the candidates -- but -- see above for a heckuva rumor.
Does anyone know (or can you speculate) anything re: the Prosper opening?
That seems to be an upcoming little burg out there. Kinda' like Argyle.

Heard Heath Autrey is in the running at Waxahachie.
Rick Carpenter from Fort Bend Elkins. Look in the topic " Major Houston Area Coach Resigns "
