Hello,

Does anyone here have any experience with Coast to Coast baseball?

http://www.coasttocoastathletics.com/

My son (16) recently went to a "tryout" and I just got a phone call saying he will be getting a written invitation to attend the Florida showcase event in December.

I don't have the details yet, as I will get them when I get the invitation package in the mail. I haven't been able to find much on the internet on opinions or reviews or the like.

I would like to hear from someone that has had actual experience with this group.

Thanks!

I'd question the Dec 27-31 date. Just after Christmas to New Year's Eve??? Colleges are on Winter Break, so I'd be surprised if there would be many recruiters! Maybe a few local or Fla colleges.

I just wouldn't consider this the best use of time & $$'s. And, more importantly, most kids are shut down late Oct-Feb/March. (Or should be!)

Son did a USA Jr Olympics Tryouts & a PG tourney/showcase at Roger Dean...during the height of summer, so yes, there's HUNDREDS of College & Pro scouts in attendance in July- Aug. Son was evaluated by PG & our team attended a couple more PG tourneys/showcases over the next 3 yrs.  Of 18 players, every one on that team received scholarships (some Juco, others D-1 in ACC, Big 12, Conf USA & SEC, & NAIA;  & 5 were drafted out of HS, then re-drafted as college Jr's/Sr., 5 signed, & 1 made MLB debut in 2013.

If you want the BEST showcase opportunity, contact Perfect Game (PGStaff, here on hsbbweb).

If ya'll want a nice pricey winter baseball vacation....then, that's different.

I don't know anything about them kujo (which may say something in and of itself since it says they've been around since 2001?) - but I would echo what baseballmom wrote above.

On the surface, this sounds like a pseudo-mass mailing teaser to make your son feel special and get his attendance to collect $$.  I could be wrong, just telling you how it hits me.

I really don't recognize hardly any of the names of coaches, scouts or testimonials either.

I am with JB, seems like a sales pitch. What do you expect to get out of going to a "tryout"?

Recruiting services have a place in the world, but if you have found HSBBW, you don't need one if you do the work yourself. Get on a reputable team, go to the right events and make a plan and work the plan. It's really not that complicated if you put the work in.

I went back & read the FAQ page. This is referred to as a "tour", "camp", "program", etc.

This is not a showcase...

Looks like some slick marketing for a baseball themed vacation.

I'm going to post a link to a thread here on hsbaseballweb, written many years ago by Bama Bomber (Greg Legg) & a few other VERY Revered OLD TIMERS! I hope you will read & listen carefully...and most of all enjoy!
