Now that this trade has finally happened, what effects do you think it will have on these teams. I am more interested in the Indians, now that they have Marte at 3rd. It seems that the Indians are stacked with young, promising talent at most positions. Victor Martinez catching, Ben Broussard (who I think is way better than last year's season), Belliard at 2nd, who is a beast of a 2 hole, Jhonny Peralta at short, now Marte at third, which was a glaring hole and now Boone can be a backup Smile. Outfield is pretty interesting now also. Jason Michaels, Jason Dubois, and Grady Sizemore seem viable and Blake is a solid 4. And then Hafner is DH too which is huge haha. But the pitching scares me some. The rotation is so-so, Sabathia is a hoss and Byrd is vastly underrated, but after that who scares you? Cliff Lee is okay and Westbrook could blossom into a #2. The bullpen is what will win/lose their season. Wickman is good, but how long can an old fat guy be counted on? Sauerbeck is a dark horse in my opinion, but other than him and maybe Stanford and Betancourt, they have issues. Well those are my thoughts about the Indians.

Crisp is already proving himself as a special player with great energy and enthusiasm. Marte hasn't played in the bigs yet and has to prove himself, and Mota will probably start the season on the DL. Major league GM's have said they can't believe the tribe gave up Riske. Shoppach has been a prospect for 8 years. I like what the sox did.
As a Sox fan I like the trade. They had to fill the CF/leadoff role and Crisp's numbers were very similar to Damon's last year. Not taking anything away from Damon.

Marte looks like the real deal, but Crisp is only 26 so he is just entering his prime.

Indians lost confidence in Riske after he struggled in some big spots. Hopefully he can be a great addition to the Sox pen.

I think this was a win-win for both teams. Only time will tell.
