Son started his second college season this weekend in the DC area and it was soooo coooold and when you add the wind, I thought we were in Antarctica...even one game on Saturday was canceled because of the cold. The kids were freezing but were good sports. Son did well (2B and 3B) but got a knee (left) contusion sliding at home and was sat down the second game of DH. Next day was cancelled and DH on Sunday. He was allowed to play in second game (lots of pleading and saying he was ok) and son hit the left field wall (foul line) so hard that he bounced back like a ping-pong and could not get up and I thought of the worse. He re-hit his left knee and hit his right knee with a big cut under his patella, now limping on both legs and saying he is 'good to go' (???). Both knees are black and blue with cuts on right, BUT nothing else and I consider that very lucky. I just tried to imagine the pain with the cold weather.

Hopefully this is the last of the winter cold blasts for all and most importantly, I hope and wish that everyone has a very safe season; this weekend remind me how a serious injury can be just around the corner.
