I heard recently that Colin Bates, now at North Carolina, suffered a serious arm injury. Does anyone know what happened and how his recovery is going? He's a talented and very classy young man and I wish him the best.

He had a blood clot in his arm after pitching in a fall scrimmage. He had two surgeries to repair the problem and I believe, although I have been wrong before, they are going to redshirt him freshman year. I saw him at Xmas. He's a competitor and he will be back.

Saw CB at the HOF dinner in Lisle yesterday. He is in good spirts and is excited about getting back to baseball down in NC. Best of luck to Colin.

Hey everyone, I was just looking around this site again to try and relive the glory days and saw this. Thanks everyone for the luck, I've just got a long road back, but I'm going to give it my best shot. Good luck to everyone on their upcoming season.
By the way...The name of the problem was throacic outlet syndrome. For all of you pitchers out there, if your arm starts to swell up, don't ignore it. I started to lose feeling in my hand and knew something had to be wrong. Yes Mr.K was right, I will be redshirting this season.
Tarheels vs. Seton hall this weekend. Atleast I get to watch the best offense in the country every day. For any doubters, check out ACC select.

Hey Mr. West how's it going. You know my school work is always going fine...I'll definitely be keeping close tabs on everyone and thanks for all the best wishes.
