my son got an e-mail from a college coach (div-2) inviting him to a 40 man showcase in which he claims 30 college coaches and 5 pro scouts will attend. he even offered to call his coach at his jr college to talk to him. my sons coach said it is against the rules to attend. my son is a soph. and is looking for a 4 year school for next year. please advise

Being that your son is in college, you need to find out the specific rules. Rules are different for HS players vs. college players. I suggest calling the NJCAA or possibly one of our parents whose son attended JUCO first can clarify.
