First of I am well aware that there is a section dedicated to this topic but it is geared more towards HS kids and not my situation.
I know this is a HS website and I used to visit it quite often just browsing for tips and hints as I made my way through HS. As a result I ended up playing my freshman season in college. I, however, did not like the college's atmosphere and the staffs' attitudes towards players and transferred out to Clemson University for academics.
I played baseball this past summer for my legion team because of my young age and ended up slightly hurting my shoulder. The Doc said it was nothing serious and to just lay low and do some exercises for it. Now it is feeling great, maybe even better than ever, and I am looking for input on teams in the Greenville area that would accept a 20 yr old on the team. I have been hitting since I have been at college and also lifting. I just have to wait and see where my arm is at.
I have been and will continue to search for teams to play on but it seems like a majority of them are filled with kids that play on top D1 school teams during the year. I would love the opportunity to play in college again, but due to being down so long I highly doubt that I am ready for trying to walk-on. I come to y'all in hopes that all you Old Timers might be able to guide me to a team that will actually take a look at me.
I am somewhat skeptical on people due to past coaches telling me I will not play due to my size (5'9" ~155) but have continually out hit and fielded the opposition. My HS coach even told me he is sorry that I never got a chance to play my sophomore year because he doubted the impact I would have.
Again I am just looking for a spring/summer team that I can begin to get my feet wet with. Any input or direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
