Over the weekend, with DISH TV's regional sports package (the Fox regional affiliates), I was able to watch ACC, SEC, Big 12, and WCC tournament games, and title games. It was a disappointment to switch over to ESPN last night and watch the MLB.

There is something about the college game, the excitement of the players, the sophmoric chants of the fans, seeing 100% effort, 100% of the time, perhaps just knowing everyone watching only paid a few bucks to get in for the day, whatever it is, college baseball viewing is just plain great!

There's more broadcast now than in previous years, but even ESPNU and CSTV don't show all that many college baseball games. I hope the trend continues, and I really hope someday the regional sports networks realize just what a gem the college game is.

(You even get used to those annoying metal bats)

How much sponsor money would be lost if Easton et al. were cut out of the picture? It'll be a cold day when they give up metal!

And speaking of cold days: Does anyone else get a chuckle out of the thought that an awful lot of college baseball is played in weather conditions that void the bat warranties every time there is contact made? Most bat warranties have disclaimers voiding your rights if you use the bats below 50.
