Can a player in JUCO do a workout for professional teams? My son has been asked to hit for some scouts and his JUCO coach is worried about eligibility. He says you can't tryout. But I thought this was just a look to see if they would like to draft him this year. Any help would be appreciated. On a side note, one of his classmates has started an energy drink company and they want him to be the spokemodel.. I assume that is a no no.

Hustle never has a bad day.

k. Try out with a professional sports organization while enrolled full-time during any part of the academic year unless they have exhausted their eligibility in that sport. (This includes any time from the beginning of the fall term through the completion of the spring term, including any intervening period,

I found this on the NJCAA web site. Does this mean hitting for scouts? He is not trying out. HS kids do this all of the time and do not lose eligibility.
