Could anyone tell me about this program and do they have the maximum 11.7 scholarships available, how about facilities, players, school? Anything will help, thanks!
TX Cant give you too much info on the college, but the head coach Frank Leoni is first class guy, he coached my son at Rhode Island the past two seasons, he did great things at RI w/not much money(scholarships)he had a great deal of respect from his players and their parents. A great choice by William and Mary picking up Coach Leoni
William & Mary is a great place to go to school and play baseball. Plumeri Park is a first class facility. It is easily better than most college facilities and many minor league parks. It has the added advantage of good weather for much of the year. While not Florida it is better than many states north of the Mason-Dixon line. The William & Mary program has sent many players into the professional ranks. Over the last 5 years they have had 5 players go in the top 5 rounds and many others in lower rounds. The program has had 2All-Americans and a Conference Player of the Year. Two players have appeared in the majors this year. The school is one of the best in the country. It is ranked in the top 40 schools in the nation each year by US News & World Report. A diploma from William & Mary is aprestigous one and highly thought of by grad schools and employers. The baseball program is not fully funded but does have 6 or 7 full scholarships to work with. I have heard good things from the returning players about the new coaching staff.
If I can answer any further question send me a PM and I will reply. My son played for William & Mary the last 3 years.
TX, W&M's Asst. Coach Taylor, from Richmond, is also a first class guy. School is one of the Public Ivys - highly regarded and as you'd expect, tight admissions. Their ballpark is relatively new - a great facility. Went to a Blue Grey Showcase there. They've had some TX guys on their roster over the years.
