How do college programs typically handle room and board late in the season after the spring semester is over? I suppose if they are living in a dorm, that could be maintained - assuming there is still access to cafeteria. If you are living off campus, do you need to make arrangements to stay past the normal semester cutoff - and how open ended does one need to be if you have a chance of getting into the NCAA tournament?

Both of my sons leases run either August-August or July-July, which helps with the move-ins and outs.
Due to the post season, freshmen had to move into one of the summer school dorms for a few days. Many of the players stored their stuff with players that lived off site and just took sheets and towels with them to the dorm.
I heard that some players in prior years stayed with players that lived in apartments off campus.
....and I believe those living on campus were given a small (ie, not enough) per diem for food since the cafeterias were closed.
But note that not everyone stays. If your team has 35 guys and the travel squad limit is 27, you can expect 8 guys to be sent home after exams. Or perhaps, sent on to their summer assignments.

Just checked with son and the entire team got to travel to the conference playoffs.
