PRESS RELEASE: The New England Catching Camp is pleased to announce it will award one $500.00 scholarship this spring to a 2007 graduating New England High School student that has been a catcher on their high school team.

The scholarship can be applied for by either baseball or softball players. Students must be graduating from a high school in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, or Massachusetts. All applications received will be reviewed by a panel of NECC staff members as well as a group of individuals from business, education, and athletics. The group will make their selection of the 2007 recipient by May 30th, 2007.

For more information go to http://www.catchingcamp.com/index.php?page=scholarship
Any additional scholarship money has to be reported. Any money given that is awarded for athletic ability CAN be counted against scholarship funded, but any money awarded for anything else (essay, GPA, projects not related to sport) usually is not.

Parents or players don't often realize this. Just wanted to spread the word.
