For those that may be unaware, ktktj's son plays for perhaps the most successful NAIA school of all time - Lewis & Clark. They have won numerous national championships and annually stock the MLB draft. Congrats to those young men!

Hey CD,
Having grown up near Portland, I'm a little sensitive to this, but....

Lewis-Clark State in Boise, Idaho is the powerhouse NAIA school.

Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR is a NCAA D3 school.

3FG - knowing your infamous attention to detail, I was just testing you to see if you were still on the ball. I am happy to report that you passed with flying colors Big Grin

And I know he hates this but CD's son has been one of the most productive, willing to do anything, clutch ball players I have ever been privledged to follow. This kid's a true stud and is hitting around .380, and I would bet around .600 with runners in scoring position. This is on a D1 team that has won more games than any other this year and is on it's way to the Regionals. I'm wishing him the best in the regionals and on as well as the draft next month.
It pained me today watching The D-2 CWS. Son's team (Wayne St. Neb) lost to Mesa St. College last Sunday in the Central Region Final. Was hopeing to be watching the games in person in Cary N.C. Hats off to Mesa as they are an excellent team. Ended up the year watching my 31st out of 60 games in Grand Junction Co. What a ride and can't wait to get started in the fall.

Stick around after that and watch Cornell and Syracuse in the Mens Lacrosse Title game---fun to watch---had the pleasure of watching Jim Brown in HS as a lacrosse players--awesome--my sons AD had a son who was All American at Syracuse and having grown up on LI I have seen a bit of Lacrosse--
TR offers a good suggestion. Should be a particularly interesting match-up with it being Cornell v. Syracuse.

Having been born and raised in Syracuse and Ithaca, I grew up hearing about the rivalry between these two lacrosse powers. Syracuse liked to claim a special sense of heritage in the game due to the connection between lacrosse, the Iroquois nation, and Syracuse. Word was amongst my folks generation was that Jim Brown was a better lacrosse player than football player ... but there was no money in lacrosse.

Going to HS in the shadow of Cornell during the years of Mike French and "the French Connection" th Cornell folks had the attitude that they had reinvented the game, leaving the Syracuse's in the past.

Of course, back then, HS Baseball try-outs were held a week or two before Lacrosse try-outs, and most of the guys who got cut from the baseball team wound up playing lacrosse. Bringing us to the only logical conclusion ...

... lacrosse is a game for those who can't play baseball. Smile
Your right CD, it was a great year. Saw a whole lot of the country which without baseball I never would have seen. Had a lot of people ask me thru out the year ask why Jr. ended up going to college all the way out in Nebraska. As I stood in the stands after the last game in a 45 and 15 season listening to a couple thousand fans clap as Jr. was anounced as the Central Region All-Tournment Catcher, I finely figured out the answer to that question.
We were able to watch three of the DII games this week. Rain played havoc so we didn't get to the last game last night. It started at 11:15!

Good ball, and very exciting. Emporia State won with a walk off HR yesterday! We were sitting on their side and it was so much fun! Didn't get a chance to see Lynn University, but based on the stats, it should be a great championship game between the two. Saturday on CBS.

Saw GV Lakers play two games. Emporia State won the first match, and Belmont Abbey (the local team) won the second. The second game was a real dooozy, with GV making a strong comeback and a disputed play at home!
