Can we get a listing of where our posters son's will be this summer? I try to make it over to Danbury for a few of the NECBL games and it would be nice to know who may be around...

My son is rostered on the Keene Swamp Bats in the NECBL. I am hoping he will report there around June 28th.
I am not sure if we can attend any of the games this summer, but may try and sneak out there if we can .

Thats great... I'll definetly see him play since the Manager of the team is Mike Sweeney from UMass who is a good friend of the family and one of the "good guys". Your son should have a great summer.

Son's teammate is also going to backstop for the Swamp Bats. I also saw one of the Keene pitchers from Washington State, Matt Oye at a showcase in Ft. Myers as a sophmore. Small world.

Everything we have heard about Keene has been extremely positive and my son is very excited to play there. I think the experience there will be exciting and I wish I could steal away more time to go there and watch, and I may smoke my Visa to do it.

My son also has a friend that is a freshman for the Ragin Cajuns, he should provide a serious power bat when he hits the line up,check the roster and it will be obvious who he is. He told my son that Lucroy is flat out amazing.It is funny to see several other kids from Washington in Keene as well, the third catcher is playing at Virginia , but is from Wa and one infielder and one outfielder besides the pitcher Oye are from Wa.Best of luck to your son, as we will be following your club closely!

Your son will love Keene. They always field a very competitive team - and they get great support form their fan base. The field is quirky and fun - with an extremely short right centerfield fence.
My eldest played against Keene the last two summers (played for Vermont) - always excellent and competitive games.

I'll make sure I mention it to Coach Sweeny when we talk later in the week. From the looks of the roster, they have a pretty good team. One of my former players is with Pittsfield while 2 others are with Danbury.

I saw Ty Rasmussen play five games this fall. He hit the ball very hard, very often. He spent some time trying to make the impossible play in the field, trying harder than neccessary to impress, but he will help out a bunch, probably very soon. He is one of four true freshman position players. Two or three more were redshirted.
Lucroy is very good hitting over .370 in the spring and last summer after about 20 games with wood. He was catching every day in the heat last summer (only rostered catcher) and ran out of gas about the end of June. I'm sure your son can keep up. No roster fillers at Clemson. They only put white cleats on "players".
