If your son is being offered a spot on a summer colligate league team I would consider it an honor and a great opportunity. I spent some time and effort locating a spot for my guy. Parents don't usually play a role in the process but we lucked out. We viewed it as the next necessary step in the process.

For Love of the Game is comming on, what a great movie!

My son played in the Northwoods and to this day it was the time of his life that will never be replicated. Regardless of the League, there is nothing better than college age players from different teams getting together for a few summer months and enjoying the game they love without the pressures of school. While the game is the same, it's a special fraternity, at a special age, that every player will remember forever.

baseball is life

my son went to a cc and fell into the same rules. he was twice invited to tryout at the cape. they have a replacement list for filling rosters.

but the ncaa rule only made him available to a few teams. the rule is more for the coach than the player.

i think the rule is more for college hc. a recruiting thing. you'll see more assistant's coaching in summer leagues. i thought i saw a few more jc players on rosters this past season.

3fingerglove knows all the rules, maybe he can help?
