This is one board member who will have a prayer one his lips a couple times this day. I would love to be sitting next to dad today when Erik runs out of the bullpen. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

To paraphrase Jim Valvano, we should strive everyday to have our emotions move us to cry every day, to laugh every day and think every day. I guarantee the Davis's will have one of those days.

Tough Kid.

Great family.

As I had posted in another thread, been a tough year for the Davis family.

When I first heard about Erik, it was a few hours before we were to be at a game in Omaha. I don't remember the game at all. I kept thinking about Erik, and as I had told TD later on, my husband was hit smack in the eye with a ball hit by a major league player while watching batting practice in spring training, chipped orbital socket, facial fractures and has lost some sight in his eye. It was a long recovery.

But Erik has done so well, has such a positive attitude, he is my hero!
