In reading some of the MLB scouting reports on some of last week's draftee's I noticed a couple of comments regarding a draftee's ability, or inability to pitch with command to both sides of the plate. One scouting report suggested that this is a common problem for many young pitchers, especially to the "extension" side of the plate. I assume this means outside?

Any thoughts on what could cause this in young pitchers?
