The answer to your question is YES they are allowed but why? Composites are a great bat for working out (because they don't break) but to use them in such important at bats, such as a Showcase... The ball does not carry as well with a composite. My sons do carry one in there bag as a "backup" just in case they do break there best "woods". Hope this helps answer your question. Good Luck!

I did not realize that the ball doesn't fly off them as well as wood. Thanks for that info!

We bought the composite because of its durability... quick story:

son was going to play in a wood bat fall league and so we bought a nice $80 maple bat, drove straight to the field to have some BP. Four cuts later, I had to duck the head of the bat flying at me.

I convinced the store to take the bat back, and bought the composite.
