I have to brag a little on the camp my son is currently attending. It is by far the best camp he has ever attended. I was skeptical at first not really knowing what to expect. My son is 10 and he is getting some remarkable training. We are pretty new at camps, He has attended 2 HS and 1 college training camps and none of them even come close to this.
Here was what was posted on there web site.
Pelicans Pre-Season Tune-up Camp
The Pelicans Training Academy will host a Pre-Season Tune-up camp from Monday, January 19th through Thursday, February 5th, 2009. This camp is open to players 8 to 14 years old, and will offer intensive instruction in hitting, defense, base running, dynamic stretching and warm-up, strength, speed, agility and conditioning. The camp will be a four weeks in duration held on Mondays and Thursdays, with 8-10 year olds working out from 5:30 to 6:45 PM and 11-14 year olds from 7:00 to 8:15 PM. This is a perfect opportunity to get young players ready for spring baseball and league tryouts.
The featured instructor for this camp will be Pelicans General/Field Manager Talmadge "T" Nunnari. "T" is a Pensacola native who played baseball at Washington High School, Jacksonville State University, and Major League Baseball with the Montreal Expos.
Now in addition to the GM of the Pelican's being the main coach the also have an Athlete Trainer from Andrew Institute who is working with the boys on agility, running drills, ladders & stretching. What's even more amazing is that my son' loves it. And yes he has discovered muscles that he didn't know he had. LOL I hope that there are more programs out there for the younger boys everywhere.
