If we only get to 1 or 2 events this winter is that enough or is that too little and wasted time? Are we already too late? Really haven't had him 'out there' at all yet, just some local fall stuff.

Son is a 2012 RHP 6'4" currently 'cruises' about 84 and has hit 88. (feels awkward putting out numbers) He just took off physically this year and now here we are and don't know what to do with him. You know...when you look at your kid and think 'man...when did all that happen' 8-) ???

You are definitely not too late. Showcases will help him get exposure, and PG does usually run a pretty good ones but they are pretty expensive. Another way to 'market' (yes he is a product and you are marketing him to colleges and scouts sad enough) is just regular email. Go online and get coach's email addresses asking them if they can come out and see him pitch or if he can throw bullpens for them. Constantly send out updates from how the season is going, and stay in front of them. Persistence pays off!
I see you are from Iowa... this could be a nice advantage for you (being that Perfect Game is located in your home state).

I haven't been following the showcase circuit for awhile however I believe that PG does some pitcher/catcher showcases in Iowa that might be a good starting point to build your son's baseball resume. If you show well it could open some doors for your son. I know for a fact that talent along with a favorable rating from PG will at least get you some looks.

Good luck!
Thank you all for the input. He is currently participating in a PG league here in Iowa and has made plans to travel with a friend to Mesa this November. I guess we will just see what happens from here. I feel like my job as a parent is to open the doors, or at least know where they are located...then it's his job to walk through them. We will see.
